To unite, empower, and safeguard the interests of journalists across Karnataka, upholding freedom of press, ethical journalism, and welfare of its members for a just and informed society.


Objectives

  1. To Promote Unity & Welfare:
    To bring together all journalists of Karnataka under one platform for their collective welfare, rights, and professional development.

  2. To Uphold Freedom of Press:
    To protect and promote freedom of expression and independence of the media in accordance with the Constitution of India.

  3. To Enhance Professional Standards:
    To encourage high standards of journalism, ethics, accuracy, and responsible reporting.

  4. To Provide Legal & Social Support:
    To extend legal aid, insurance, health schemes, and social security benefits to members in distress or during professional hazards.

  5. To Conduct Training & Workshops:
    To organise training programmes, workshops, seminars, and conferences to upgrade skills and knowledge of journalists in emerging trends.

  6. To Address Grievances:
    To represent and resolve grievances of journalists with government, media houses, and other bodies for fair treatment and working conditions.

  7. To Recognise Excellence:
    To institute awards, honours, and recognitions for outstanding contributions in journalism.

  8. To Promote Regional Language Media:
    To encourage and support journalism in Kannada and other regional languages for cultural and linguistic preservation.

  9. To Collaborate with Similar Bodies:
    To liaise with national and international journalist unions for mutual cooperation and development.

  10. To Undertake Welfare Activities:
    To establish welfare funds, housing schemes, and emergency relief for journalists and their families.
